Uses

Your Magic Can Be Used in So Many Ways!

Swimming & That’s That Magic

Did you know?!?!

Pools all over the world sanitize their water with Chlorine or Bromine. These are great for killing off bacteria & viruses. However, when these chemicals come in contact with skin and hair, they immediately bond to our body. They steal the natural oils from our skin and hair. This requires us to add additional oils and products to our skin and hair for days after swimming.

What can you do?

Did you know that oiling your skin with That's That Magic approximately 30 minutes BEFORE swimming helps to significantly cut down on your skin absorbing chemicals in the water? When used before aquatic sessions, That's That Magic provides an additional protective layer to the skin to neutralize the absorption of pool and ocean chemicals to prevent any potential adverse side effects. Use alone or add a touch to your favorite sunscreen. Allow your skin to absorb the oil for at least 30 minutes before swimming.

What about my hair?

That's That Magic! Have you ever been asked to shower before you enter a pool or open water? There's a reason for that! No, it's not because the Lifeguards want to annoy you. It's because of your hair! Wetting your hair with fresh water first reduces the absorption of chemicals and salt. Resulting in healthier hair. With That's That Magic you can take it up a notch! That's That Magic penetrates the hair shaft and fills the gaps between cuticle cells preventing absorption of harmful chemicals. Take a small amount of That's That Magic and apply to your scalp and dry or damp hair at least 30 minutes before swimming. You can also add a small amount of That's That Magic to your favorite leave-in conditioner the same morning of your swim. Still wet your hair down before entering the water for the best solution in blocking the absorption of harmful chemicals.

After your swim...

Yes, That's That Magic gives great Post Swimming benefits as well! Even if you prepare ahead of time, swimming in any body of water steals your body, hair and nails of natural oils. After swimming you should immediately soap off your entire body and shampoo your hair. By adding That's That Magic to your skin, nails and hair after your shower, you are helping your body to replenish some of the oils stolen by the water. You are also preventing further loss of natural oils by creating a barrier and locking in your body's natural oils.

Prepooing Hair Extensions can Extend their Life

PrePooing is the process of applying oil, i.e. That's That Magic @thatsthatmagic, to your hair before the actual shampoo process. The treatment provides your hair with a protective layer. This is helpful because shampooing can strip moisture from the hair. PrePooing adds extra moisture to dry locks.

Detangling and applying That's That Magic to your hair extensions (prior to shampooing, hence the name PrePoo) helps prevent dry brittle hair that may result from over processing through heat or color treatments.

That's That Magic does not extend the life of your extension style/method but rather the actual extension hair. If you invest hundreds of dollars in your extensions you want the hair to last!!!

How to Pre-Poo?

  1. Start off with dry hair. Section it into two parts or more depending on your hair type and length.

  2. Use your fingers to gently detangle each section. Start from the ends and work your way up. Focus the oil on your ends because they’re the driest and that’s where the tangling happens.

  3. Once done with covering the strands with a thin layer of oil, cover your head with a silk, Satin or cotton cloth or cap. We personally recommend Satin for the benefits to your hair overall.

  4. Let the oil sit for as long as you wish. Some prefer to pre-poo the night before washing their hair for maximum protection.

  5. Rinse with warm water and then clean with shampoo as you normally would. Make sure you don’t leave any residue behind.

Pre-Poo Benefits Oil Breakdown

Almond Oil

Using almond oil has been said to strengthen natural hair. Almond oil has lubricating properties which make it harder for the strands of hair to become dry and brittle. Almond oil helps to moisturize and hydrate severely damaged hair, possibly due to color treatments, heat damage, or chemical treatments. The oils also help lock in moisture, resulting in shinier, more vibrant hair.

Skin Brushing - A Must To Remove Toxins, Dry Skin, and Diminish Cellulite

Why Skin Brush? What are the benefits?

Body brushing is said to energize the body, increases circulation and blood flow, and stimulates drainage from the lymphatic system to smooth skin's surface, sweep away flakes and dry patches, and even out lumps and bumps, including cellulite.

Coconut oil has many beneficial effects when applied to the skin. According to an article in the International Journal of Molecular, its benefits include:

  • acting as an antibacterial protectant

  • acting as an antioxidant

  • reducing skin inflammation

  • repairing the skin barrier

Coconut oil contains a number of free fatty acids that make it highly moisturizing. Examples include lauric acid, linoleic acid, and palmitic acid.

How to shave with That’s That Magic

Here are some ways you can use That’s That Magic as a shaving oil

  • Allow the That’s That Magic to sink in and soften the skin. You can also use That’s That Magic in this way as a pre-shaving treatment and apply another cream or soap on top of it.

  • Rinse your razor frequently to keep the That’s That Magic from building up on it.

That’s That Magic & Baking Soda

Exfoliating your face cleans and unclogs your pores, which in turn can prevent you from getting pimples. That's because clogged pores trap oil under your skin's surface, which leads to acne breakouts. Exfoliation is the removal of dry/dead skin cells on the surface of the skin and is one of the most important aspects of your home skincare routine for face and body. Exfoliation not only helps many skin problems, it also increases blood circulation, which in turn helps you to achieve healthy and glowing skin. Source: The Benefits of Skin Exfoliation.

After exfoliating apply and thin layer of That's That Magic to keep skin moisturized.

That’s That Magic & Turmeric

Hot Oil Treatment

Hot OIl Treatment with Thats That Magic.jpeg
Hot OIl Treatment After (ThatsThatMagic).jpeg

Hot oil treatments are great for all hair types and have been found to stimulate blood circulation to the scalp increasing hair growth. Hair oil treatments strengthen, nourish, and add shine to your hair. Getting or giving yourself hot oil treatments is a great way to lock in moisture. Hot oil treatments can prevent dry hair and scalp, split ends, and dandruff. They can also reduce breakage, shedding, and frizziness.

Hot Oil Treatment Heating instructions:

Step 1: Heat the oil

First, boil the water in a pot, then pour the hot water into a bowl carefully (glass preferably). Take your oil and pour the amount you want into a small glass container, I like to use a beaker and about 8 pumps of That's That Magic. Place the container into the very hot water bowl. It will take about 1-2 minutes for the oil to warm up to the water’s temperature.

Step 2: Applying the oil to your hair (starting at the scalp)

Begin to apply That's That Magic at your temple area then work your way backwards, getting your roots and scalp. Rub your hair in circular motions, massaging the scalp. (Massaging your scalp with That's That Magic promoters hair growth and allows That's That Magic to sink into the scalp, which causes the hair to be soft). Once you’ve massaged your scalp with That's That Magic for 3-5 minutes, move on to applying it down the shaft of your hairs (Remember, that less is more when applying this part). Your hair should not drip with oil, you only need a nice thin sheen. Too much oil will cause it to be difficult to wash.

Step 3: Put on a shower cap and then a hot towel

I believe using a shower cap is much easier than wrapping your head in plastic wrap, especially if you’re going to do hot oil treatments on a regular basis. So all you have to do is tuck your hair under the shower cap and then heat a towel with very hot water. Run the towel under very hot water and then wring it out until it is no longer dripping. Wrap it over your head, and …… relax! Once the towel gets cold, pull it off your head and just let the natural heat from your scalp (under the shower cap) do the rest of the work.

Step 4: Wait 30 minutes to 2 hours

During this time, do something that makes you happy!!

Step 5: Wash it out

Rinse your hair first with the water on the warmest setting your skin can handle (This method reheats the oil and gives your hair one last boost of extra moisturizing). You may need to shampoo twice, but you’ll be able to tell by the texture and feel of your hair when you’ve gotten all the oil out. There’s a strong possibility that you will not need to use conditioner after shampooing - you’ll be able to tell based on the feel of your hair. At the end of rinsing with the shampoo, turn the water temperature to tepid (that’s about the temperature of your body, maybe a little colder). The remaining oil will rinse out much easier if you rinse with tepid water.

Voila!

You've just experience a hot oil treatment with That's That Magic!
